What are collaborations?

Collaborations give you the opportunity to partner with brands to promote their products or services by creating a video and (if applicable) posting this video on your social media platforms. On YEAY, this type of brand partnership is called a collaboration.

It involves creating content, such as a short video and sponsored post, that showcase the brand's message to your audience. In exchange for your efforts, you will receive compensation in the form of rewards. 

Collaborations are a great way for you to monetize your creativity and reach! Most importantly, it’s always your choice whether you want to join a collaboration and truly endorse a brand.

How does YEAY work?

YEAY shows you collaboration opportunities from brands that are looking to partner on sponsored content. Brands share their collaboration requirements and offer rewards, and you can choose to participate if it sounds interesting.

How do I sign up to be a content creator on YEAY?

Download the YEAY app and simply follow the sign up process. You will need to create a profile and provide some information, including links to your social media accounts. A minimum of one social media platform needs to be linked, however, the more you link, the more collaborations you will be able to see. Linking is only required as a form of proving account ownership and credibility. We do not post on your behalf. You will also be asked to agree to YEAY’s Terms and Conditions.

How are brand collaborations shown?

Brands share their collaboration requirements and rewards. You can then review all the details and decide if you want to participate. Once you join, you will see a timer showing you how much time you have to complete the collaboration (this includes submitting your video and social media post link). The maximum length to complete a collaboration is 48h.

Can I negotiate the terms of a brand collaboration?

No, you cannot negotiate the terms of a brand collaboration. The collaboration terms and requirements are set by the brand, and you can choose whether you would like to accept and join.

Do I have to accept every brand collaboration that is offered to me?

No, you are not required to accept any brand collaboration that is shown to you. You can choose which collaborations you want to participate in based on your interests and goals.

How do I get paid for participating in a brand collaboration?

Payment terms for collaborations will vary depending on the specific collaboration. For collaborations without video approval, you will receive the reward instantly after uploading the video and posting the video on the required social media platform. For collaborations with video approval, you will receive the reward only after the brand approves the video and you have posted it on the required social media platform.

How can I submit a video?

You can record a video directly via the YEAY app, or upload a video from your phone. Please make sure that your video follows the brand requirements and has a good quality (good lighting and a clear sound). Your video must follow YEAY’s Terms and Conditions.

These are the requirements for a typical video:

• Video format: YEAY supports MP4 and MOV file formats.

• Video resolution: YEAY recommends a minimum resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels.

• Video length: YEAY allows videos from 15s up to 3 minutes in length.

• Video size: YEAY has a maximum file size of 70MB for uploaded videos.

• Video aspect ratio: YEAY supports both landscape (16:9) and portrait (9:16) aspect ratios.

It's important to note that these requirements may change over time, so it's always a good idea to double-check the latest guidelines on the YEAY website.

Can I use music in my video?

Yes, you can use music in your video, but make sure you own the copyrights.

How much will I earn for my video?

How much you earn is based on the brand's video reward and social post reward. You can see the potential rewards in the collaboration details under “rewards”. You can potentially receive the video reward and one post reward (if you see multiple post reward options, you will need to choose one).

What is a “total buyout” referred to in video rewards?

The total buyout refers to a type of compensation arrangement in which the brand pays the flat fee (reward) for exclusive rights to use the creator’s content, in a variety of different contexts, such as in advertising campaigns, on social media platforms, or in other marketing materials.

The length of the total buyout is also shown, as it can vary depending on the brand’s setting.

What happens if my video was reported?

If your video was reported by the brand you will be notified directly within the app and will have 24 hours to upload a new video. Make sure to resolve the report and complete the collaboration, otherwise you will be blocked from accessing any future brand collaborations.

What are collaboration details?

The core details of a collaboration include:

• Category: The type of product featured in the video.

• Collaboration name: The collaboration name, displayed to everyone.

• Description: A short explanation of the overall collaboration.

• Messaging: The keywords and core messaging that should be included in the video.

• Do’s: Things to do in this collaboration.

• Don'ts: Things to avoid doing in this collaboration.

• Hashtags: Any hashtags that should be included in the social media caption.

• Emojis:  Any emojis that should be included in the social media caption.

• Link: The link to the product/service, to include in the social media post (if applicable).

What kind of collaborations are available?

There are 3 general types of collaborations on YEAY:

1.Verified creators no approvals: any verified creator following the required targeting set by the brand sees the collaboration and can decide to join.

2.Verified creators with creator approvals: any verified creator following the required targeting set by the brand sees the collaboration and can “request” to join. After brand approval they can submit the video and post onto social media for rewards.

3.All creators with video approvals: all creators following the required targeting set by the brand see the collaboration and can submit a video - brands must approve the video before the creator earns the video reward and can post on social media to get the post reward. Videos that are denied do not receive a reward.

What is a verified creator on YEAY and how do you become one?

Creators with significant reach can get a verified account on YEAY. Some collaborations are shown to verified creators only. This means that there might be collaborations that are exclusively available for verified creators to join and receive rewards. To get verified, you will need to create an account on YEAY that is complete, including a profile image, a bio and a minimum of one linked social media for proof of your existing online presence. If you already have an established online presence then our admins will verify your account.
